McKayla Rose Maroney also known under the name 'MackAir Maroney" is an infamous American athlete who has won two medals at the Summer Olympic Games of 2012 Silver for individual gymnastics in the vault and a gold for her team. It was her participation in sports as a child that inspired McKayla to start gymnastics. She specializes in vaulting. She is the only gymnast to be successful in the defense of her gold medal, initially won in the 2011 World Championship, and followed by defending it at the 2013 Championship.
